WA Speeding Goldmine

More than 2400 drivers were pinged for speeding last week on Western Australia's newest highway. Fines in the first five days earned the WA Government a staggering $360,000.

That's $72,000 a day - not a bad little business. The new highway from Perth to Bunbury has Multanova speed cameras, marked and unmarked police cars, and handheld radar ... but lacks service centres for 150km. Good to see the government priorities in order.

And hats off to Matthew Carr, latter-day Captain Francis de Groot, first hoon driver to have his car impounded on the new highway.
